Styled Surface Designer

The primary function of the Styled Surface Designer is to own the implementation, refinement and delivery of Class-A CAD files for ID-Driven content.
Secondarily, the Styled Surface Designer will provide general design support to the Industrial Design department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary translator of sketches and reference files into Class-A surface CAD for design visualization and industrialization.
- Collaborates with the Design Engineers to ensure that ID deliverables satisfy all project requirements including, but not limited to: industrial process requirements, neighboring system clearances, fastening features, and FEA/CFD analysis.
- Provides general support to the Industrial Design department as needed, including research, documentation, visualization, and ideation.
- Supports the Director of Industrial Design in a perpetual quest for improvement of the product and the quality of deliverables.
- Maintains ID departmental CAD competence and efficiency by keeping current on tools and skill.
Required Education/Experience:
- B.S. in Industrial Design or equivalent.
- 5+ years of consumer product design experience
- 3+ years of styled surface development
- Strong Alias experience
- Familiarity with a parametric CAD system
- Mechanical interest/aptitude
Skills and Attributes:
- Direct experience in vehicle design- especially power sports
- Solidworks experience
- Skill in Photoshop/Illustrator
- Skill in digital rendering; i.e. Keyshot
- Interest/participation in the motorcycle world
Other Requirements (if applicable):
M1 certification or enrollment in MSF class

Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, an to walk around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed. Must be able to bend or stoop down to access files, including lifting of items or objects up to 30 lbs.
