Lead Front End Engineer

YP.com is seeking a world class Lead Front End Engineer/Architect with expert level JavaScript knowledge and extensive experience in developing rich/high-performance, large scale Web and mobile applications.

• Serves as technical lead for architecture, design, and interface decisions
• Help in every stage of project lifecycle – gather requirements, design, develop, test, and support the applications
• Drives the execution of multiple projects and ensures business needs are met
• Leads and works with Interaction Designers, stakeholders (leadership, business, and product management), and developers in execution of medium to large scale complex projects
• Works independently and with supervisory review on complex tasks; ability to work with ambiguous information
• Recommend engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, code reviews for front-end engineering
• Excellent ability to collaborate and communicate with different teams, and triage technical issues across teams.

• 5+ years experience developing UI front end for high volume applications (Web and Mobile)
• Expert level skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (5+ years) and ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components
• Experience with JavaScript libraries, mvc frameworks such as JQuery, backbone.js; and angular.js; node.js and similar technologies
• Experience with templating libraries like Moustache, Handlebars or Underscore
• Experience with data-driven web development, including strong knowledge of JSON, AJAX, and XML
• Experience with cross-browser development and trouble shooting
• Significant experience with Client-side programming and REST API required
• Great passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
