At Youth Villages, we fiercely believe that building strong families is the answer. Our counselors are a force for families, providing Evidentiary Family Restoration® for kids and parents alike. We do this with one goal in mind: to ensure that each child has a functioning family and a safe, permanent home. Because stronger families result in safer neighborhoods and better communities for everyone.

Our YVLifeSet Specialists provide their 18-22 year old clients with the knowledge to utilize all available community resources.These counselors are able to help clients become self sufficient by assisting them in locating and learning how to use community resources such as housing, employment and education.

Position Overview

• Handle a caseload of 12-15 18-22 year old clients

• Create individual service plans with each client based on their goals in order to transition into adulthood.

• Provide on-call availability to families during the week and a rotating on-call schedule

• Drive up to 60-80 miles to meet with young adults in the home
• Counselors provide treatment in individual's homes in a wide array of settings and communities

Additional Information

• Schedule is non-traditional, but flexible and based around clients availability. Since counselors are heavily involved with each family, long hours may be required.
• Counselors must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes as well as have liability insurance. Counselors are reimbursed for mileage.

• A Master's degree in a social services discipline is preferred
• A Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline is required
• Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will have to be evaluated further to determine if they meet the qualifications.
• One year of related experience in counseling and/or case management is required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
