Godwin, a Xylem brand, offers challenging and rewarding careers for highly motivated individuals. We are currently seeking top candidates to become part of our team and have an opening for Class A Driver for our Kent, Washington facility.
- Assist yard personnel in loading and unloading trucks with Godwin pumping equipment for delivery and pick up.
- Secure all items loaded on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in accordance with Federal and local Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
- Review all items to be delivered (or picked up) with customer to ensure completeness and accuracy. Obtain customer’s signature on Godwin Rental Contract paperwork.
- Maintain log books with entries for driving, on-duty, etc. in accordance with DOT guidelines.
- Maintain mileage and fuel logs as required.
- Perform daily visual inspections of Godwin delivery equipment and documenting any items in need of service.
- Obey all Godwin Pumps and customer safety rules.
- Maintain communication with dispatch as to whereabouts and estimated arrival/departure times.
- Assist in the set-up of Godwin pumping equipment as necessary.
- Available for on-call off-hours driving assignments on a rotating schedule for emergencies.
- Assist as needed in preparing rental equipment for dispatch and ensuring yard is organized and maintained.
- One to two years experience in the construction industry preferred.
- One year experience operating Class A commercial vehicles.
- Experience with flatbed trailers and proper load securement techniques (chaining, strapping, etc.)
- Valid state issued commercial driver license
- Current Department of Transportation medical card
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Ability to read a map
- Ability to complete basic mechanical tasks
- Ability to operate a commercial vehicle according to Commercial Class license for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions
- High School or Equivalent
