Director of Marketing

- Distribution industry experience is required.
- In this vital position you will guide the Company’s marketing product development strategies and priorities including marketing communications, advertising, tradeshows, web presence and market development.
- Assist in preparation and execution of advertising, promotional programs and product literature, catalogs, etc.
- Assist in the development of product, positioning and pricing strategies.
- Hands on design, layout, creative content for all marketing and communication materials along with the ability to select and manage outside vendors.
- Develop partnerships that leverage our market access and potential to grow the business.
- Coordinate day to day surfacing business activities with our surfacing suppliers, corporate team and regional/branch teams and specification representatives.
- Establish programs and procedures to assist field sales achieving profitable volume.
- Make recommendations and evaluations on new product opportunities.
- Develop and present product training to field sales, customers, etc.
- Support field sales with information regarding pricing, sales and customer policies, monitor complaints.
- Conduct periodic market evaluations and competitive analysis of product lines.
- Accompany and assist field sales as required.
- Make presentations at regional/branch sales meetings at each location in person and via video conference throughout the year.
- Responsible for oversight of the pricing department.
- Responsible for eCommerce activities including web promotions and layout. Manage the planning, growth, and success of the eCommerce program.
- Attend sales conferences and trade shows as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix management environment.
- Strong Business Acumen – must understand market and customer trends, customer needs and impact on future product development programs, new business case financials.
- Strong Customer interface skills. Ability to uncover customer needs and trends.
- Must have excellent/strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Travel up to 25%.
Education:
- BS/BA degree required with MS/MA/MBA preferred in Business or Related Business Management.
Experience:
- Ten years prior marketing experience successfully demonstrating market/sales growth in the distribution industry.
- Experience working with distribution channels.
- Industrial, commercial or cabinet sales or manufacturing background or related industry experience is desired.
