Quality Engineer

Primarily responsible for designing and ensuring human/machine interfaces and quality processes, procedures and controls are aligned to maximize quality production at a reduced cost. Evaluate new customer and vendor requirements to design production-quality flow processes. Prepares CARs to evaluate if the investment is feasible and meets cost requirements.
- Develop process control methods in order to solve complex problems and eliminate waste.
- Facilitate internal teams in oder to determine root cause and implement coorective actions to prevent reoccurences.
- Interact with suppliers in order to improve products through material or process changes.
- Complete cusomter PPAP's abd requirement. Develop, review and approve supplier PPAP's.
- Develop and perform DOE's.
- Determine root causeand implement corrective action to prevent reoccuraence on customer issues. Work with and approve supplier corrective actions to provent reoccurence.
- Evaluate, develop and impelmetn procedure and manual changes,
- Perform customer visits and supplier audits in order to drive improvements internally and externally.
- Preparation and evaluation of CAR's related to new toolignand equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of FMEA process, participation and documentation of FMEA's.
- Advanced knwoledge of internal audit methodologies related to various quality systems.
- Skilled in math and statistics.
- Written and verbal communciation skills.
- Statistical software along with MS Office programs.
- Knowledge of material and product defects.
- Analysis and problem solving skills.
Education/Training:
- Bachelors in Quality/Engineering or related area.
- Preferred Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA or WI Cert.), Certified Quality Engineer.
- Intermidiate metallurgy training.
- 0 - 5 years experience.
