This position requires a highly creative and self-motivated individual with good communication skills and willingness to work with people with a variety of backgrounds. A hands-on and can-do mindset is essential for this position as you will be directly interacting with personnel on the manufacturing floor.
- Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting automation processes.
- Develop and implement process control techniques & procedures for automation used in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Analyze the automation processes & identify ways of enhancing quality, cost and throughput of those processes.
- Work closely with production & maintenance departments to develop, coordinate & implement technical training for employees.
- Provide automation support to production departments in multiple locations to trouble shoot & resolve technical problems.
- Support company policies, procedures, goals & objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 5 year experience (preferred).
- Associates Degree with extensive experience.
- Hands on experience programming ABB & Fanuc industrial robots in a material handling application.
- Hand on experience programming Allen Bradley SLC 5000 & Control Logics system.
- Proven experience with computer numerical controllers (CNC), Human Machine Interface (HMI).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Auto CAD.
- Experience with working directly with welding processes.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required to effectively communicate throughout the organization.
- Solid understanding of Lean Principles (6S, Kaizan, Kanban, SMED)
- Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Strong Interpersonal & Teamwork skills; yet able to perceive needs and work independently.
- Data driven problem solving approach including root cause analysis.
Essential Elements
- Must be physically able to freely access all areas of the plant and grounds.
- Must be willing to travel as needed via most efficient means.
