English Instructor/Assistant Professor

William Peace University, a vibrant and diverse independent institution in Raleigh, NC, seeks to appoint a scholar with expertise in the field of English. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full-time credit load, engage in service, research and scholarship, student advising, recruiting, and participate in campus-wide events. The appointment, effective July 1, 2016, will be made at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. This will be a non-tenure track, fixed-term appointment.

• Evidence of teaching effectiveness
• Two years college teaching experience
• Mastery of subject matter, primarily the teaching of writing

• Ability to use instructional technologies to support classroom activities

• Ph.D. in English or related field
• Possible areas of expertise: creative writing, cultural studies, ESL instructor training, digital humanities
