Communication Instructor

William Peace University, a vibrant and diverse independent institution in Raleigh, NC seeks to appoint a scholar with expertise in the field of Communication. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full-time credit load, to engage in service, student advising, recruiting, and to participate in campus-wide events. The appointment, effective July 1, 2016, will be made at the rank of Instructor.

This will be a non-tenure track, fixed-term appointment. The selected candidate will teach in the Department of Communication. This position calls for a generalist with a broad knowledge of the disciplines within the field of communication, who has an appreciation for and experience teaching diverse student populations. Duties may include teaching courses such as Introduction to Public Relations, PR Techniques, PR Cases and Campaigns, Media Writing, Media and Culture, Public Speaking, Interactive and Social Media.

• Ph.D. degree in a communication field
• Expertise in Public Relations
• Two years of college teaching experience
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness
• A Master’s degree in a communication field
• Experience teaching at the collegiate or university level
