Staff Engineer - Cell Manager

The VMware Cloud Native Applications team is looking for experienced software engineers to be part of the team building a SaaS service ground up. We are interested in engineers who are interested in helping shape the next generation of the Cloud products in VMware. In this role, you will focus on Distributed Systems, Linux kernel space, User Space as well as core Cloud computing areas. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll join a group of highly talented and passionate engineers who work closely.

· 5+ years of professional experience working in systems/application development, distributed systems and online services.

· Distributed systems

· HTTP & REST

· Java/Go

· Linux/Unix competence

· Confidence with/knowledge of Docker, Hashicorp tools (Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Consul), Mesos, Kubernetes; having non-trivial contributions accepted definitely a plus.

· Self driven and can collaborate well in a team setting

· Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate on audio and video calls with other team members
