Summary

Vanguard, one of the world’s largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a Junior Financial Analyst to provide financial and analytical support for assigned business unit.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as liaison between Vanguard businesses and other finance groups for revenue, expense and headcount questions (budget and actual). Comfortably interacts with various levels of Vanguard’s organization on financial matters.
  • Proactively anticipates and supports unique business needs. Researches and responds to various financial related questions from business clients and/or CFS in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs analytical and financial duties. Supports business planning and forecasting, and provides monthly management and entity reporting. Provides analysis and reporting on trends, key process indicators or other ‘what if’ scenarios.
  • Collects data and other metrics for dashboard tracking and reporting.
  • Prepares monthly expense/revenue journal entries. Provides coding and verification for accounts payable vouchers and purchase orders.
  • Manages accounts payable/receivable issues. Assists supervisors/managers with trouble shooting accounts payable issues.
  • Supports internal audits through research and response. Seeks to effectively mitigate risk.
  • Trains new financial administrators.
  • Documents, processes/workflows. Supports contingency planning.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting/finance background preferred.
  • Minimum two years related work experience. One to three years Vanguard experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple requests/processes in a timely manner.
  • Analytical/problem resolution skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop/maintain relationships with clients by proactively identifying/responding to needs preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial policies valued.
