Production Manager

Valmont also leads the world in mechanized irrigation equipment for agriculture, enhancing food production while conserving and protecting natural water resources. In addition, Valmont produces a wide variety of tubing for commercial and industrial applications.
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Manager position at the Gateway Galvanizing Plant. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 20-40 production employees within the Galvanizing facility
- Implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment
- Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel
- Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment
- Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products
- Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement
- Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
- Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations as specified by corporate policy and government regulation
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree from a tech school or two years of college
- Two years of experience in a supervisory or management position
- The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position
- A proven record of supervisory experience and must have strong leadership
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
- The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
- The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
