Associate Product Manager

Valmont is the global leader in designing and manufacturing poles, towers and structures for lighting and traffic, wireless communication and utility markets, and a provider of protective coating services. Valmont also leads the world in mechanized irrigation equipment for agriculture, enhancing food production while conserving and protecting natural water resources. In addition, Valmont produces a wide variety of tubing for commercial and industrial applications.

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Associate Product Manager position in the Global Irrigation Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will align with the Product Management team and be responsible for product management, development, and marketing activities within the Valley Irrigation product line.

• Plan, organize, and complete project assignments in a cross-functional team environment
• Have knowledge of how mechanized irrigation equipment is used in a variety of field applications as well as an understanding of what growers expect from Valley Irrigations equipment
• Support dealers and growers with applying the right Valley products to specific crops and fields

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant technical field
• Minimum three years’ work experience in a product development, product management, or marketing role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience using project management software such as MS Project or equivalent software
• The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the year

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• An Advanced Degree (MBA, MA, ME)
• Product Management experience
• An understanding of technologies that are currently utilized in the Valley product line
• Experience with agricultural products
• Demonstrated product management and general marketing management knowledge
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment with multiple levels of employees
• The ability to lead, use influence, and build consensus in cross functional teams
• The ability to work quickly and efficiently with both domestic and international employees and dealers
• The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines
• Strong problem solving and project planning skills
• The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
