Visual Product Designer for UI Components

Upwork is looking for an outstanding Product Designer with a focus on component-level expertise to join our growing world-class design team. As a Product Designer, you will be working on a team of product design professionals with a passion for user-centric, forward-thinking design.

* Create visually stunning and innovative user interface designs with an extreme attention to detail, while creating concepts that beautifully balance the needs of our business with the needs of our users and internal stakeholders * Act as a primary designer across multiple interactive experiences, collaborating with a core team of UX and Visual Designers to evolve the next generation of our digital component library and drive the future of UI strategy * Work closely with not only our design team, but developers and project managers from ideation to high fidelity visual design * Utilize insights, pain points and opportunities from user research to inform your designs and to clearly communicate design decisions * Help lead visual design QA across our entire product experience

* At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role * Expert knowledge in visual design principles, UX/UI principles and current web standards * Experience designing highly thoughtful and highly usable layouts/ templates that consider graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of digital space * Experience crafting interfaces across multiple platforms and operating systems (for both desktop and mobile) * Attention to detail and drive. You take ownership of tasks/projects while seeking feedback throughout process * Mastery of digital tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Sketch * A degree in Interactive Design, Product Design or a related field * An understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JIRA and responsive design * General knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, accessibility and usability * Nice to have: experience with motion graphics, interactive prototyping tools Axure
