Responsibilities

PIX 11 is looking for a Digital Strategist/Producer who is passionate about all things digital and social, and is fluent in the use of all social platforms. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in using social media to extend the reach and growth of a brand. Be able to read insights on social media to determine what works and doesn’t work and why, and has their eye on the next big thing. A strategic thinker that can inspire and innovate a team of creative professionals whose mission is to grow our reach and influence in the digital and social realm.

Candidate will not only maximize the value of our existing platforms, but have the vision to know what emerging platforms, tools and technology are around the corner that will guide the brand forward.

Candidate will create smart and engaging short-form content for distribution on Facebook and generate related content to promote PIX11 across all platforms. Together with digital team, candidate will oversee social media campaigns across all platforms and use knowledge of analytics (Google and Facebook) to inform content and distribution decisions.

Candidate will produce engaging posts, videos and promotional campaigns to further engage our audience, and attract new followers over a multitude of social platforms. Develop and produce out-of-the-box, compelling content and sales-integration campaigns. The ideal candidate will possess strong editing skills, and the ability to conceptualize and produce visually engaging work on point with our marketing message.

Candidate will be an innovative visionary but also, possess the skills and proficiencies needed for execution. He/she will have the experience of leading projects/campaigns from conception to integration. He/she will have the skills necessary to develop and foster a multifaceted social ecosystem, in which every channel has a strategic role and purpose, seamlessly working together in tandem.

  • Create write, produce and edit shareable content, integrated sales pieces, and social messaging. Occasional on-air promotion spots, messaging and campaigns for all PIX11 News broadcasts and programming.
  • Identify the wants needs and motivation of key audiences based on project requirements
  • Utilize strong, high-level conceptual thinking to write and produce creative campaigns that can translate across multiple platforms (on-air, print, digital, etc.)
  • Maintain close relationship with all newsroom producers, managers and EP’s to create promotable content as it breaks. But also come up with unique informative, engaging and shareable content as it relates to our products.
  • Transmit all finished product to multiple outlets as directed
  • Work with vendors and clients on an occasional basis
  • Collaborate across disciplines, i.e. news, design, media, digital departments, etc.
  • Work independently as well as with the team to create compelling and on-point content.
  • Be proficient of post-production process and tools including editing, graphics, shoot/photography advancements in order to see a project to completion
  • Stay on top of current marketing and emerging social trends.
  • Build and maintain a digital marketing strategy for our TV station
  • Implement and measure digital marketing advertising campaigns
  • Work closely with Creative Director, Manager of Integrated Sales and Marketing and Director of Digital to identify trends, insights and direction for web and social channels
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 3-5 years digital/social experience. Previous digital experience in broadcast, print or agencies is preferred.
  • Must be highly creative, innovative and have strong video, original production and editing skills.
  • Must have attention to detail and accuracy with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with non-linear editing equipment, specifically FCP 7 – Avid, Adobe Premiere , After Effects, Photoshop.
  • A passion for the newest/latest social media platforms, and emerging trends.

  • Available to work weekends (when needed)
  • Available to work evenings. (11-7…12-8).
  • Have a fundamental understanding of brand positioning and how it drives creative direction.
  • Experience working as part of a creative team
  • Experience writing clever and effective copy. Proven skills in copywriting with specific experience writing for the web and social media.
  • Thorough understanding of the digital media space and social media fluency.
  • Ability to create innovative and interactive campaigns across social and web platforms, and proven ability to manage campaigns from concept to completion
  • Previous experience using Google Analytics and other digital measurement tools
