Toyota Motor North America is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Powertrain Manufacturing Engineer.
This role will provide Production Line Engineering support for the automated manufacturing of engines, axles, and their major components.
- Engage and identify improvement items through FMDS tracking, follow through with countermeasures.
- Plan and manage model change activities from trial to mass production.
- Develop machine procurement scopes of work and ensure specification is met from planning to production usage.
- Develop Change Point Management Strategies and their schedules.
- Clarify Training requirements and develop plan to implement.
- Operation Rate Improvement Activities – Process uptime.
- Process efficiency improvement through simple automation.
- Model change activities required new equipment and modifications of current.
- Perform Risk Assessment for new equipment safety confirmation.
- Lead/Join process quality planning and confirmation activities.
- Utilize FMDS as a tool to prioritize in order to focus time and resources.
- Analyze cost – return on investment.
- Systematically identify through usage of data tracking such as FMDS.
- Utilize Toyota Tools such as TPB as a method to manage your activity.
- Communicate direction and status regularly throughout process.
- Develop and maintain your own yearly schedule and report status monthly.
- Support Department and Section Annual Hoshin Activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechanical.
- Engineering Technology) or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Project Management experience to include: planning, scheduling, status reports, and activities in a speaking/group environment.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Able to work up to 10-20% Overtime.
- Able to travel up to 10% (Domestic and International).
- Experience working with AutoCAD.
- Experience working with Inventor or Catia.
- Experience with Equipment Safety specification requirements.
- Previous leadership experience working/leading in a team environment.
- Experience with Product/Line Startup through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Automobile manufacturing experience.
