Director of Accounting

• Determines and directs the appropriate accounting (recording) and/or disclosure for complex business transactions or the implementation of complex accounting rules.
• Prepares formal written documentation of analysis, conclusions and support for conclusions.
• Participates and/or leads special projects. Provides well-developed professional expertise and decision making abilities.
• Review month end and quarter end close.
• Review the consolidation including consolidated financial statements as well as footnote support schedules and analytics. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and SEC accounting and reporting
• Support and assist external auditor's quarterly and annual reviews through development and analysis of data requirements
• Interact with accounting department, Treasury/Finance, development/construction, investments, legal and other departments to ensure timely accurate disclosure.
• Assist tax advisors with required tax accruals and estimates
• Review and address compliance related issues.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics, Advanced degree in business, finance and accounting a plus.
• CPA preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experiences, real estate and/or REIT experiences preferred.
• Firm understanding of U.S. GAAP as well as U.S. SEC regulations and experience in the preparation of financial statements and accompanying footnotes and disclosures. Experiences with IFRS a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Independent thinker.
• Demonstrated ability to identify errors, problems and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
