Our client is currently seeking a Tool & Die maker II. Overview of Job Description: Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Tool and Die Maker II has sufficient experience and knowledge to assist with training and identify problems for Tool and Die maker I.
- Plans machining by studying work orders, drawings, CAD files, material specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Assist in training and supporting team members
- Daily Cleanup of tooling, equipment and area to reduce FOD
- Maintain 5 S standards throughout the designated work area
- Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards encountered
- Reading comprehension skills (Drawings, GD&T, software)
- Math skills (Trigonometry)
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and identify conditions that warrant notification of the Supervisor or Engineering
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrates ability to use calibrated measuring tools to ensure part dimensions
- G code programming and troubleshooting
- Interactive skills of effective communication and team building
- Drug Testing is required for this position
- Candidates must be 18 or older
- Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen
