(New York, New York)Headquartered in New York City, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. is a leading developer, marketer and publisher of interactive entertainment for consumers around the globe. The Company develops and publishes products through its two wholly-owned labels Rockstar Games and 2K.
Provide crucial oversight, analysis and support around monthly and quarterly close. Translate institutional knowledge into training tools and solutions. Establishes and assures adherence to schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Ensures procedures and internal controls are followed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives.
Monthly Close /Quarterly Close across Corporate Consolidations and 2 Label Accounting groups
- Review high risk analysis prepared by Group managers (e.g. gross margin analysis, Internal and external royalties and licenses, Capitalized software development costs, deferral calculations and validation, Allowances for Price concessions, returns and other allowances and Inventory reserves).
- Review JD Edwards (“JDE”) Enterpise resource planning (“ERP”) monthly balance sheet and PL movement for reasonableness
- Review monthly Day 12 actual vs. forecast variance commentary prior to management review meeting
- Trouble shooting closing issue when it arises (e.g. inventory integrity issue, inventory reconciliation issue, JDE system set up for new business or new transaction, etc.)
- Address inquiries and requests from the labels (e.g. allocation of Online IT costs, adding title/platform/region for PL accounts, etc.)
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis
- Prepare and coordinate the quarterly Audit Committee pack for Controller
- Perform Hyperion Financial Management (“HFM”) integrity check, reporting hierarchy and override maintenance
- Managing the overall quarterly client requests list with EY
- Improve existing HFM reporting data by dimensions (e.g. AR allowance by title/platform, inventory and inventory reserve by title/platform, deferred revenue by title/platform, etc.)
- Responsible to maintain and update all Group SOX process flows where applicable, including ensuring that all controls are performed timely in accordance with our procedures.
Monthly Close Process Improvement
- Evaluate and improve key area process flows (e.g. fixed asset, cash PL, HFM data integrity by custom, etc.)
- Assess, improve and streamline key risk analyses such as future price protection, quarterly inventory reserve, etc.)
- Assess and improve existing work product to meet multiple purpose (e.g. for tax purpose, for label reporting, etc.) such as deferral and fixed asset schedules
- JDE Governance (e.g. approve account creation, Business Unit creation, etc.)
- HFM Governance (e.g. review account request, submit request, etc.)
Training
- Document and draft training manuals and checklists for key risk areas
- Document and expand existing process flowcharts for key risk areas
- Work with management to develop cross training opportunities
- Provide/monitor training to new hires in key risk areas
Day to Day Corporate Operational Management
- Respond to corporate department inquiries and requests when it arises (e.g. AP invoice coding, AR chargebacks, IT department requests/inquiries on projects and coding, etc.)
- Complete ad hoc Operational Projects such as workers’ comp renewal analysis, studio dividend, studio closure, tenant improvement tracking/monitoring, and statutory audit
- Work on special projects
- Manage IT projects as assigned
- Annual Budget Coordination
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Combination of auditing experience within a large accounting firm and experience in a publicly held company preferably Software, Media & Entertainment or Technology Company.
- CPA license in active status.
- Excellent technical accounting and research skills in complex and ambiguous situations; strong operational finance skills preferred.
- Experience leading and managing an accounting team
- Experience with HFM, JDE or similar ERP and data extract, analysis and reporting tools
