The company provides a system of solutions for civic and commercial organizations that recycles industrial and municipal waste, as well as organic by-products into environmentally sustainable resources.
Conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Apply knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to operation. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.
- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
- Inform appropriate management and staff of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintain company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Supervises and assist outside contractors as needed.
- Perform equipment maintenance according to abilities, as required to keep the process running. Contact the on-call mechanic when necessary.
- Perform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility to include sweeping, shoveling, and other housekeeping activities.
- Enforce and maintain standard safety procedures and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Participate and complete training programs within the time frame allotted.
- Assist in facility shutdowns as needed.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- State Electrical License (min. Journeyman) with 5 years troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment/systems required.
- Instrumentation and PLC experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards in the workplace and display proper judgment in responding to them.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructional manuals, instruction sheets, technical data, blueprints, work orders and mechanical drawings in English.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of occupational hazards connected with machine shop and general plant practices with emphasis on the necessity of safety policy compliance.
- Ability to work varying shifts, overtime, holidays, on call duty and emergency call-ins.
- Ability to work set priorities and complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
- Basic computer knowledge preferred.
- Ability to travel required. Must possess valid driver’s license and have clean driving record.
- Ability to access confined spaces thru standard 12” X 16” man ways.
- Ability to perform required duties at heights of up to 80 feet.

Ability to work under adverse conditions that may require the donning and use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to the following:
- Negative and Positive pressure respirator
- Self contained breathing apparatus
- TYVEC Suit
- Hardhat
- Approved safety shoes
- Eye Protection (corrected or otherwise)
- Chemical protective suit
- Work boots and gloves
- Safety harness

Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize required training from OSHA and Company including but not limited to the following:
- First aid and CPR
- Hazcom
- Hazmat
- Hearing conservation
- Confined space entry and rescue
- Lock out/ Tag out
- Ability to operate powered equipment in a safe and efficient manner including but not limited to industrial forklifts and man lifts.
- Ability to operate hand and powered tools in a safe and efficient manner while on ground surface as well as at heights.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy weight lifting in a safe manner which includes the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures.
