Industrial Designer

Create parametric surface models of new products and new product families in CATIA that are adaptable to change as design evolves

Develop strategies for creation of surface models of complex product families that ensure consistency and maximize efficiency of data creation.

Employ 3D Data reuse techniques to help maximize efficiency and quality of throughput Create conceptual surface models in CATIA using sub-division modeling techniques

Manage time effectively in order to support multiple projects concurrently

Adhere to company 3D modeling best practices

Use a PDM system to manage 3D CAD data

Meet product schedule deadlines

Provide technical leadership to new hires and interns.

Strong understanding of CATIA V5 Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Part Design

Experience with CATIA V5 Imagine and Shape (IMA)

Understanding of manufacturing requirements, and how they are applied to component designs

An eye for aesthetics, and an ability to translate 2D sketches into 3D CAD surface models that accurately capture industrial design intent

BS, BA or equivalent in Engineering/Design Technology · Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience in 3D CAD packages with a focus on Surfacing (CATIA V5 preferred) (0-3yrs.)
