We are looking for a highly energetic and motivated Purchasing Coordinator with excellent management, communication and inter-personal skills, driven by a strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of a growing team.
- Responsible for planning and procurement of materials, equipment, stamping dies and supplies for this Columbus, Ohio Tier 1 Honda Supplier.
- Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all materials, services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
- Assist in specifications and quotation preparation, purchasing, expediting, quote analysis and invoice auditing for materials, supply items, equipment and parts.
- Optimize all purchasing activities including scheduling, on-time delivery, cost reduction, inventory control, and materials/supply management.
- Strong grasp of both purchasing and materials, including understanding of ERP and financial implications. Experience with metal stamping or robotic welding processes a plus.
- Manage activities which monitor accurate material inventories, track progress of production and review factors that affect schedules
- Minimum Associate Degree in purchasing, production management or related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing/materials responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to interact with persons at all levels within the organization, including hourly associates on production floor.
- Results driven individual accountable for all requirements and goals. Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
- Strong problem solving ability while researching the root causes of problems relating to purchasing responsibilities.
- Requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, negotiating skills and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated proficiency using PC and Microsoft Office software.
