Spanx founder Sara Blakely was getting ready for a party when she realized she didn’t have the right undergarment to provide a smooth look under white pants. Armed with scissors and sheer genius, she cut the feet off her control top pantyhose and the Spanx revolution began! With a focus on solving wardrobe woes, the Spanx brand has grown to offer bras, underwear, jeans, pants, active and more.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the new distribution strategy by identifying new opportunities throughout the US
  • Generate sales for the company by effectively making and building upon customer relationships
  • Participate in the establishment of fiscal year retail and wholesale targets and strategies to achieve objectives in partnership with retailers
  • Maximize sales potential within accounts through strategic assortment planning
  • Develop and execute strategic plans by door, by department, and by category
  • Supervise and make visits to in-store boutiques and specialty store accounts
  • Build brand awareness and protect brand integrity
  • Define and implement distribution plan for existing and new categories
  • Develop and manage cross functional relationships with Marketing/PR, Product Development, Planning, Production and Finance
  • Respond accordingly to address sales performance trends as identified by sales administrative department
  • Monitor the fashion sector to identify trends and report back to Corporate on new business opportunities
  • Build visibility for SPANX brand with support from visual, merchandising and marketing departments
  • Partner with Merchandising to present recommendations of merchandise needs in response to retailer feedback
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 10+ years in selling or buying branded apparel, consumer packaged goods, health and beauty, or buying for a national upscale retailer
  • Minimum 5+ years managing a team
  • Dynamic negotiating, influencing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Available to travel extensively
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced PC knowledge including Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Office
  • Strong management and relationship building skills
