Electrician

Description:

• The selected candidate will take ownership of all facility Electric and related projects to include maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and related electrical operation and maintenance.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

• The Electrician will perform work required for the repair, maintenance, installation and modernization of electrical systems for facility equipment. Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment.
• Repairs malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning, repairing or replacing motors.
• Tests electrical equipment such as motors, heaters and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.
• Installs fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment. Inspects circuits for specified shielding and grounding

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years electrical experience in operations and maintenance services.

• Knowledge of applicable US Codes and acceptable trade practices. Previous electrical experience in a government facility environment.

• Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment
