Summary

Sittercity is looking for a full time DevOps Engineer to help support our growing product platform.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has proven experience supporting all systems and service-orientated architectures.

Responsibilities

Provide operational support and automation tools to application developers
Develop chef cookbooks for building and maintaining servers
Bridge the gap between development and operations to ensure successful delivery of projects
Build back-end tooling and automation that is maintainable, flexible and scaleable
Anticipate tomorrow's problems by understanding what users are trying to accomplish today

Ideal Candidate

- DevOps and linux engineering experience with Linux/Unix
- Advanced knowledge of system configuration management toolsets (Puppet/Chef, Ansible, MCollective etc.)
- A strong understanding and ability of bash scripting
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (Ruby / Python / PHP)
- Good understanding of network routing, switching and security
- Proven ability to easily pick up, understand and support new technologies
- Solid ability to clearly communicate technical information to your team
- Familiarity with Git and Github

**Bonus Points:**

- Experience with AWS and automation around their core APIs
- Experience and a working understanding of LXC Containers and/or Docker
- Experience with compiled languages (C / Java / Go Lang)
- Familiarity with CoreOS, Fleet and rocket or docker
- Familiarity with either CoreOS or Ubuntu server linux distributions. 
- Experience with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins/TravisCI
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Sensu or Nagios 
- Exposure to the following technologies: MySql, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Neo4j
- High energy level and pleasant, positive attitude!
- Evidence of working well within a diverse team
