Growth Engineer

Scrapinghub is looking for a software engineer with a keen interest in marketing and growth hacking. As our Growth Engineer, you’ll be in charge of analytics, of carrying out conversion optimizations, and of executing growth hacks to generate inbound and outbound leads.

You’ll succeed in this position if you’re an enterprising hacker with an insatiable curiosity and very strong analytical skills. You’ll need to know enough about data and statistics to distill actionable data from raw signal. And enough about front-end development to expedite web-related work when needed.

A few examples of things you’ll do:

• Select and set up analytics tools so we’re able to collect data and make sense of it.
• Create and optimize advertising and remarketing campaigns.
• Design and carry out growth experiments with the help of Engineering.
• Develop pixel-perfect landing pages or widgets for our growth experiments.
• Scrape, cross-reference, and mine datasets to produce lists of outbound leads. on into action-packed stories.

You’ll be able to tap into a wide range of fun in-house skills and technologies such as our machine learning experts or our distributed crawling infrastructure.

• Produce actionable data so we’re able to know what works and monitor progress.
• Work with Product and Platform to set up dashboards, A/B tests, and experiments.
• Set up and optimize landing pages, media buying, and email automations.
• Come up with and expedite growth hacks to generate inbound and outbound leads.

• You have a Bachelor’s or better in a STEM field that required strong quantitative skills.
• You have a few years of experience developing software.
• You understand the difference between data, metrics, and KPIs.
• You can expedite front-end tasks such as setting up javascripts or crafting web pages.
• You can spec lower-level development work, and get it done alone or with teammates
• You’re well organized and self-motivated - essential because we’re a remote team.
• You’re a team player with excellent communication skills in English.

Bonus points for:

• A proven track record of working with a remote team - big plus.
• Knowing Python and Scrapy like the back of your hand - big plus.
• Open source software and StackOverflow contributions.
