Summary

PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to negotiate supplier agreements, in partnership with the RBC Capital Markets business and RBC Procurement. The successful outcomes of these initiatives are those solutions that meet business requirements and create value for RBC CM as measured by cost savings and/or cost avoidance achieved. The incumbent will also coordinate and manage the end to end flow of engagement requests through inception to closure, working with various partners in RBC Procurement, legal, risk management, compliance, insurance and supplier management through the lifecycle of these requests.

Responsibilities
  • Functional owner of Supplier Optimization engagement pipeline, allocates engagements to Sourcing managers (both inside and outside the group), follows lifecycle of engagement request to ensure requests continue to progress, escalates where appropriate

  • Contract negotiator (on small to medium complexity/spend matters including – but not limited to - IT Hardware/Software categories) with a focus on value creation through initiatives related to total cost of ownership, quality improvements, demand management, supply chain expertise, supplier management, innovative solutions and outsourcing

  • Leads and manage the Sourcing Process for assigned categories ensuring established policies and practices (internal controls) are adhered to

  • Delivers and track results in cost savings and cost avoidance

  • Conduct supply market analytics and external market assessments

  • Proactively identifies opportunities/initiatives within supplier or RBC FG services in areas of savings, revenues or process streamlining.

  • Contributes to recommendations to Executives

  • Manages and fosters strong relationships with RBC CM businesses to understand needs and requirements and serve as a trusted partner

  • Proven PC skills including strong knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word

Desirable:

  • Certified Supply Chain Management

  • Professional (CSCMP) or equivalent

  • Experience in Capital Markets IT Software & Hardware category and contract knowledge

Compensation and Working Conditions
Hours per week up to 40
