Responsibilities

We are seeking talented, passionate and experienced professionals to work within our high-energy dynamic environment. You will lead product development of various disruptive innovations from proof of concepts, to intellectual property analysis, to leading and collaborating with engineers, researchers, strategists, designers, company leaders, outside contracted firms and clients. Your knowledge and know how in bringing products and experiences to life will be essential to your position including having taken products successfully through development, process and material selection, tooling, testing, documentation and production ramp up.

  • To create high quality mechanical, electro-mechanical and assembly designs using parametric 3D CAD models. You will ensure that all final project designs achieve client and end-user requirements and that they emphasize the merging of aesthetic and user experience design intent with best of class implementation.

  • Leading and participating in brainstorming sessions and other team meetings intended to define design priorities and performance goals based on client objectives.

  • Identifying, engaging and interviewing potential contract manufacturers and other suppliers as well as visiting and evaluating possible manufacturing partners to review their production capabilities and readiness.

  • Reviewing tooling designs to verify the quality of fit and finish implementation as well as supporting manufacturing partners to resolve issues during design transfer and transition to mass production.

  • Designing and reviewing manufacturing test fixtures and procedures, reviewing and approving initial production samples, analyzing and testing field returns to determine root cause of failure and proposing and implementing corrective actions.

  • Monitoring the latest innovations related to product development, including new component technologies, materials, manufacturing and prototyping processes.

Ideal Candidate
  • Preferred software knowledge includes: SolidWorks, Surfcam, Co-Create

  • Demonstrate a portfolio of successful, launched products

  • High level of motivation and drive

  • Excellent team collaboration, communication, and presentation skills

Education and Experience

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required for this position

  • Experience in physical product design

  • Demonstrated experience leading design teams & clients through challenging projects

  • Deep experience in the manufacturing process of product design

  • Working knowledge of CNC prototyping
