Summary

The data warehouse supports operational, analytical and reporting needs of the business; and administers royalty payments to the labels. This role is a technical leadership role and will be responsible for full development lifecycle of the solution, including detailed design, development, code reviews, unit testing, deployment and post deployment support.

In this role, you will be delivering solutions both in MPP and Hadoop platforms. These solutions power Rhapsody consumer facing websites and analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzing business requirements to develop solution design.
  • Reviewing and assessing business rules.
  • Estimate development timelines and create schedules.
  • Creating and reviewing data models.
  • Developing source to target mapping.
  • Designing and developing ETL scripts and procedures.
  • Creating prototypes to validate
  • Code reviewing, testing and implementing solutions.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to team members.
Ideal Candidate
  • MS or BS degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or engineering field preferred At least 5 years of development experience in large data warehousing environment. Teradata or other MPP background strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of development experience in ETL & stored procedure development.
  • Minimum 3 years of development experience in Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HBase, Map Reduce, Sqoop, Cassandra.
  • Minimum 3 years of development experience Java, Python, PERL, SQL, shell scripting.
  • Experience in machine learning and recommendation algorithms is a plus.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have experience in working in UNIX and Windows environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and develop data models.
  • Must be able to work with both technical and business groups to develop robust solutions.
  • Must be able to create and maintain documentation.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like MicroStrategy, Business Objects, or Cognos is a plus
