Summary
The Communications & Community Engagement Manager will provide support to RAC’s Communications and Philanthropy department, strengthening and establishing relationships/partnerships with the community through local non-profits, government agencies and foundations as well as driving the company’s Corporate Communication initiatives. This position will also work closely on implementing key communication strategies and messaging throughout the organization both internally and externally. The position will be headquartered in Oxnard, CA, and will report to the Manager, Office of the CEO.
Responsibilities
* Supports the communication program that fosters Reiter Affiliated Companies corporate reputation (i.e., media engagement, field tours, press releases, ads and online messaging.) * Assists in planning, developing and executing corporate communications in support of established company initiatives/strategies. * Researches and develops written materials for external communications including press releases and web content to promote the company and its products and services. * Assists in the development of key internal communications to support employee engagement including internal newsletters, emails, posters, etc. * Works closely with public relations, media and strategy consultants to coordinate and execute on integrated campaigns. * Works with web and media designers to develop print materials, update social media materials, advertising and other external and internal communication tools. * Manager Social Media – Berrycentro and RAC * Assists in managing and building key media relationships and works to generate stories in trade, business and general interest press. * Supports the coordination of employee volunteering from Reiter Affiliated Companies Employee (GRACE) program * Encourages and promotes philanthropic volunteer opportunities among RAC employees * Provides assistance in the implementation of the RAC Wellness Strategic Plans alignment with then the company philanthropic volunteering program (GRACE). * Promotes externally and helps garner more outside interest in the company’s own Health Initiative Program, Sembrando Salud. * Attends events, meetings and other in-person, external activities that promote the company’s philanthropy efforts and initiatives. * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field * Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar environment with communications/community relations/public relations experience. * Possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * Strong editing, proofreading, layout and design, printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally * Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media * Native level fluency and excellent written communication skills in English and Spanish. * A high level of professionalism with ability to handle confidential information with discretion and a high degree of professionalism * Strong attention to detail, organization and written and verbal communication skills * High level of organizational and time management skills. Ability to be proactive, work on own initiative and multi-task under pressure * Flexibility in juggling competing priorities and changing expectations between both departments and function. * Experiencing working with and managing media consultants a plus. * Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. * Must demonstrate outstanding stewardship and relationship building/management skills to expand the mission of Reiter Affiliated Companies and their communications and philanthropy objectives. * Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor * Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus * Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and mature business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport **Physical Requirements:** * Frequent sitting * Works on computer for a good portion of the day * Must have good eyesight to read computer screen * Repetitive finger motions are required to move computer keys. * Must be able to listen and speak on a telephone * Travel required both by automobile and airplane * Energy to put in the hours of concentrated work necessary to achieve goals while maintaining a positive attitude * Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation

Working Conditions

: Travel Requirements: Travel will be approximately 50% percent of the time; Some global travel may be required; approximately 25% percent of the time; Travel to RAC offices, meetings and events.
