Summary

Mirth is looking for a talented experienced individual to join our QA team and head up our test data management needs. As a self-starter with minimal guidance you'll have the opportunity to work in the Healthcare domain putting your talents to use to help build a standard test database and test data for use among different teams (e.g., QA testers/analysts, developers, performance engineers, analytics, etc.) using existing customer data or building synthetic data to achieve maximum coverage for testing and development efforts.

Responsibilities
  • This role will be responsible for planning and creating production-like datasets for testing needs. You will participate in discovering, designing, extracting, masking/de-identifying existing data, developing, and maintaining test data using appropriate test data management tools and techniques.
  • To accomplish the above you will also be involved in recommending the appropriate tool(s) to accomplish this work to provide the right-sized, production-like, reusable test data for development and QA testing requirements/needs.
  • Focus specifically on maximizing test data reuse, data safety, initial state repeatability with any profiling, cataloging and versioning needed.
  • A solid knowledge of databases (particularly PostgreSQL), and de-identifying PHI data is necessary for this role.
  • Working with QA and developers and understanding their data needs for development and testing will be a key activity.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in developing test data management strategy, discovering test data by analysis of business flows, system integrations, data architectures, and data entities and relationships.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ QA or development experience.
  • Experience validating production copy data to test systems.
  • Experience maintaining test data by refreshing, roll forward, roll back, aging, reset, archive and cleaning techniques.
  • Experience in data modeling, data development, and database administration.
  • Experience de-identifying and masking sensitive test data to meet security and privacy requirements.
  • Experience working with TDM tools and ETL tools (e.g., Pentaho, etc.).
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and resolving test data defects or issue of data loading and any downstream data impacts.
  • Well versed in data architecture, data development, test data management tool configuration and development, with a proven history of providing effective test data solutions.
  • Prior QA or development experience.
  • Prior Health Care industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiar with development trends for the Healthcare Industry and the landscape for the exchange of electronic health information.
  • Knowledge of HIE systems, workflows and integrated systems.
  • Knowledge of data transmission with HL7, CDM, CDA, etc.
