Summary

We have an immediate need for a Senior Cost Accountant located at our Aliso Viejo, CA corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for monthly close process for your assigned areas.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and inventory related journal entries.
  • Preparation and coordination of management reports.
  • Ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial accounting data, including areas that require significant judgment.
  • Various special projects, as needed.
  • Provide leadership and review work performed by other team members
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies. Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close, perform margin analysis
  • Work with the materials review board to reserve for E&O inventory. •Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
  • Understand intercompany transaction flows by inventory location in various jurisdictions
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring prompt response to audit requests. Ensure that all internal control procedures are performed and documented. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley for all relevant activities.
Ideal Candidate
  • Cost accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of Inventory GAAP accounting Plus
  • CPA
  • High technology experience
  • Experience in Plant or Contracting Manufacturing (outsourced environment)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or financial field, or the equivalent in training and experience, and a minimum of 5 years related experience in accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Oracle or other large ERP system.
