We have an immediate need for a Quality Engineer, Associate located at our Aliso Viejo corporate headquarters. This position will work in the Customer Quality Assurance Department and support strategic OEM customers. Candidate will support varied and complex product and/or customer quality engineering assignments requiring judgment in the evaluation of requirements, planning, reporting and the development, maintenance, and evaluation of general procedures.
- Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates the technical phases of quality programs on assigned projects.
- Reviews and coordinates customer statements of work, request for quote, quality contract requirements, product specifications, to ensure clarity and to ascertain quality requirements. Provide detailed feedback from team members with supporting data.
- Analyzes information and data to deliver internal and external customer reports.
- Teams with cross functional engineering and other business groups to implement corrective action both internally and externally.
- Works closely with all functional groups to develop and maintain quality systems to assure established customer quality requirements are achieved and minimize risk/cost to products.
- Leads quality assurance, customer problem analysis and resolution, preventive action analysis, and measurement related activities based on a defect prevention methodology implemented through Plan-Do-Check-Act.
- Provides expertise in engineering, management, and technical practices that detect and prevent defects in all phases of work.
- Uses various means to understand customers' requirements.
- Familiar with LEAN, six-Sigma, and other quality management principles and practices.
- BS in engineering or related discipline required. 0-2 years applicable experience.
- Experience in quality systems and improvement methods.
- Candidates should have strong communications and project management skills.
- May need to travel periodically both domestic and international Exercises independent judgment in the formulation of original techniques and methods.
- Maintains close liaison with Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing functions to obtain and provide information.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, including the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Experience in technical, management, or operational support functions.
- Knowledge of quality principles including project and configuration management processes and methodologies.
- Ability to track, analyze, and identify trends in data to define areas of risk and systemic issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
