Prosper allows people to invest in each other in a way that is financially and socially rewarding. On Prosper, borrowers list loan requests between $2,000 and $35,000 and individual lenders invest as little as $25 in each loan listing they select. Prosper handles the servicing of the loan on behalf of the matched borrowers and investors.

Summary

We are seeking a Data Analyst - Product to join Prosper’s Business Intelligence technology team. The role will initially report to the VP, Business Intelligence. The Data Analyst - Product will provide analytic and data support exclusively to the Product Management team. The ideal candidate must be eager to develop a deep knowledge of Prosper and the peer to peer lending business. The Product Analyst will work daily with Product Managers to continuously improve product function in a fast paced, data-driven culture. The role requires the use of analytical skills and creativity to mine and improve data, develop meaningful dashboards, design and evaluate A/B tests, surface meaningful insights, and generate reports that keep the business informed on key performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Organizes source data and develops dashboards to measure and assess Product OKRs.
  • Fosters a data-driven culture by bringing rigor to AB testing and product performance monitoring.
  • Builds a deep understanding of product function and develops alerts, reports, and dashboard visualizations that surface insights about both product and business performance.
  • Understands all the data, knows where to find it and how to use it.
  • Serves as liaison between Product and BI teams to communicate changes to source data and maintain integrity of downstream data warehouse.
  • Validates the logic used to transform source data into data warehouse measures.
  • Applies analytical skills and data model knowledge to diagnose and solve production issues.
  • Gathers nuanced data requirements and eliminates ambiguity as a data consultant to the product business.
  • Converts and synthesizes large amounts of disparate data into actionable insights.
  • Identifies and executes improvements to reporting processes and underlying source data.
  • Develops relationships and acts as an advisor to business users, developers, DBAs, and data engineers to effectively drive results.
  • Documents SQL queries, source data, business process, and KPI definitions.
  • Eagerly tackles ad hoc analysis requests.
Ideal Candidate
  • BS in STEM field
  • 3+ years business intelligence, data mining experience supporting a business function
  • Advanced SQL, Excel, and Tableau skills; eager to learn new languages, reporting tools
  • Experience with Omniture a strong plus
  • Proven analytical skills; can problem-solve independently and collaboratively
  • Effectively communicates, in writing and verbally, to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, start-up environment; thrives on change
  • Passionate about using data to create business insight and drive business solutions
