Summary
Manages the current and future technical requirements for Hotel & Tour Management for all websites and inventory/database systems.
Responsibilities
* Develops short-term and long term technology plans and proposals that bridge business and system (websites, inventory and database) functionality in coordination with Information Technology (IT) and business units in the Hotel and Tour Management department. Consults on functional project teams to provide business requirements and solutions for complex issues. * Evaluate, troubleshoot and solve technical problems as they may relate to (Polar, Websites, Data Warehouse, Tour Operator Gateway) in conjunction with appropriate IT teams. * Works directly with IT to communicate Hotel and Tour Management business requirements, priorities and scope in conjunction with business goals. * Manages analysis and documentation on business requirements for major system enhancements and implementation for the Hotel and Tour Management team. * Manages testing of systems, applications and system interfaces for Hotel & Tour Management. * Work with the marketing group to ensure a coordinated message between the website/Polar and the corporate marketing message * Monitors operating performance and maintenance of systems, configuration, updates, testing and installation of applications and/or databases ensuring effective operation, security and data integrity. * Develop documentation of policies and procedures. Conducts training on systems and applications with the Hotel & Tour Management team. * Communicate with management and other departments on Hotel & Tour Management issues and problems related to systems. * Liaise with support departments - Group Admin, Access & Compliance, Marketing, BDT's, Reservations, PCC and etc. * Coordinate with the Polar SUS team specification & implementation of new processes for Polar system improvements. * Work closely with Manager, Product Administration & Inventory in the support of components and tours in relation to Systems Administration. * Oversee special systems projects. Responsible for monitoring trends and procedural activities to maximize efficiencies, ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and make recommendations to management. * Assist Manager, Product Administration & Inventory in analyzing needed information and creating reports necessary for staff reference, sales and monitoring of inventory. * Supervises all responsibilities of the Analyst, Quality Assurance & Tour Systems and Coordinator, Quality Assurance & Tour Processes
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge Areas:** * Polar, * Data Warehouse/OBIEE * Tour Operator Gateway **MXP** * Websites (HAL/SBN & PCL) **Minimum Qualification:** * Bachelor’s Degree * 5 years travel inventory systems experience. * Minimum 1 year supervisory experience * Prior experience in cruise industry and or travel industry preferred * Prior inventory management experience required. * Proficient in website and database systems * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access * Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills required. * Excellent written & verbal communication skills and customer service experience required. * Ability to compose professional business correspondence required. * Must have demonstrated leadership skills and be a proactive thinker with experience building effective working relationships throughout the organization.
