Job Description
Reporting to Digital Manager, the Associate Digital Designer is responsible for concept development, visual exploration and final execution of design directions for PacSun.com.
Associate Digital Designer must be able to work successfully within a team setting that includes collaboration with other team members in Marketing, Ecommerce, CRM, Merchandising, Information Architecture, Writers, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure on-brand and technically sound visual design solutions.
Development
- Concept creation and development, design and execution of overall visual language
- Ownership of design and functional continuity throughout the development phase of project work, consistently consulting Digital Manager for guidance and validation
- Internal presentations of creative concepts and design progress throughout the course of project work and creative assignments
- Soliciting and assimilating design feedback, establishing priorities and implementing design related revisions
Delivery
- Responsible for adhering to agreed upon asset delivery schedule
- Strong understanding of the limits and constraints of HTML and the ability to apply that knowledge in producing interactive solutions
- Base understanding of Information Architecture, usability and overall user interface issues
- Collaboration with Development Team to ensure correct implementation of approved design direction
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field
- Formal training in graphic design, typography, interaction design and/or visual communications
- 2+ years experience in Interactive Design and Production
- Highly conceptual and proven ability to interpret and adapt existing brands to the interactive space
- Extensive working knowledge of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Strong knowledge of web production and visual asset creation
- Understanding of HTML, dHTML and browser capabilities across multiple platforms
- Strong communication and listening skills and the ability to translate feedback visually
- Demonstration of successful experience working in a team-based setting and ability to persuasively present creative concepts
- Detail oriented, highly organized and a keen eye for consistency
- Strong time management skills and accountable for meeting deadlines
- Must be team-oriented, dedicated, inquisitive, and collaborative
- Ability to work independently
Working Conditions
Monday-Friday 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM up to 10% travel
