Senior Software Test Automation Engineer

The ideal candidate has experience working with complex software systems and pushing those systems beyond their limits.

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

• As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

• You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

• Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.

• Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

• As a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer, one is responsible for developing back-end automation tests cases (from scratch).

• The successful candidate will perform and automate a wide variety of testing from performance, functional, load and reliability testing. Engineers will report, analyze, troubleshoot bugs and work with development team for resolution.

• Must be highly passionate about tearing software apart and finding defects/bugs.

This role is a Software Test Engineer or Test Automation Developer and not suitable for QA/Test professionals with tools experience only. We are seeking seasoned engineers with:

• A minimum of 5 yrs software development/automation and testing experience

• Passionate about test automation, finding bugs, and breaking things

• Experience automating tests using Java, C#, Perl, Python, or Ruby

• Understands web services (REST) and underlying protocols (HTTP/S,TCP/IP)

• Prior background in TestNG or JUnit

• Strong love of learning new technologies

• Likes to take things apart to understand how they work

• Flexible and enjoys a variety of types of work tasks (“wearing many hats”)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of configuring complex client-server environments

• Knowledge of modern test engineering methodologies

• Ability to work independently to achieve goals in a fast-paced agile R&D; team

• Comfortable on both Windows and Linux

• Exposure to a variety of database systems

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
