Responsibilities
  • Responsible for review of life insurance applications for completeness and legibility. Required to input insurance data to establish computer records for underwriting and other company records.
  • Accepts and approves applications with appropriate age/amount requirements and medical histories using screening criteria. Refers applications needing further analysis to underwriting.
  • Exercises additional purchase benefit options. Prioritizes and organizes case work in a high volume, quick-paced production environment.
  • Completes risk assessment on applications for the following ages and amounts: ages 0-17 from $0 - $500,000, ages 18-30 from $0 - $1,000,000, ages 31-40 from $0 to $500,000 and ages 41-50 from $0 to $200,000
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Completion of the Watson Glaser test is required.
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment in the application of rules and guidelines as demonstrated through successful work performance and/or academic or professional education.
  • Experience in assignments emphasizing high volume and attention to detail required.
  • Communication with the Field or outside parties with proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, resourcefulness and understanding in order to gain trust and confidence with customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated prioritization, organization, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to independently establish priorities and meet deadlines with high quality results.
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative in accepting responsibility for work results and contributing cooperatively to team goals.
  • Keyboarding skills required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry desirable
