Senior Frontend Engineer

Nimble Collective is an end-to-end solution for artists who want to create, collaborate, and distribute their animated content. We are disrupting the $90 billion animation content market by building the industry’s first cloud-based, platform where a full animation workspace can be accessed through a web browser.

Nimble Collective needs a prolific, passionate, driven Senior Frontend Developer to take the reins on developing an immersive, highly interactive and visually appealing frontend platform that pushes the creative boundaries of existing frontend technology in order to serve a community of artists.

You will own the frontend of our animation pipeline in the cloud. You will drive the collaboration with artists, product managers, backend developers, DevOps. You will ignore any browser that does not implement HTML5 to a reasonable extent. You will mentor, help hire, set up frontend build, test and deploy infrastructure and generally be awesome as part of our engineering team of 6 (and growing).

• 5+ years experience in frontend web development
• Pointers to portfolio or professional examples of work
• JavaScript, HTML5, JQuery, JSON, CSS and friends, AJAX
• Expertise writing semantic, modular front end code using W3C best practices
• Experience with responsive web design
• Experienced with and opinionated on multiple frontend frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, EmberJS, React, Meteor, etc.)
• Familiarity with multi-browser testing and debugging
• Experience with source code control, ticketing systems, document collaboration tools
• Friendly, gregarious personality, not afraid of spirited, collaborative discussion
• Experience with EmberJS (we think we’re going to use this, but it’s still up in the air. come help us decide)
• Experience with python/django
• Experience with web video delivery
• UX/Visual Design sensibilities
• Experience creating web imagery using Photoshop
• Experience with SaaS
• Expertise in performance optimization using tools such as YSlow or PageSpeed
• Knowledgeable about accessibility, internationalization and localization
• Animated content creation experience
• Loves animation
• Plays hockey
