Business Analyst

New York University is a private, nonsectarian American research university based in New York City. NYU's main campus is located at Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan.

Business Analyst will act as project lead to maintain and grow current NYUSPS school-wide development practices and solutions, as well as being responsible for small to mid-sized projects as needed. This is both a lead role but is also a hands-on development support role as well. Define, create, and implement standards of reporting that meet operational, tactical, and strategic needs of the School. Conduct research projects, create reports, and present results and recommendations for improving data definitions, usage, integrity, and accuracy. Coordinate the implementation of information systems for the support of institutional research. Create and maintain projects plan and schedule throughout project life-cycle. Develop documentation and user manuals, conduct training sessions.

Required Experience:

• 5 years experience leading a small to medium-sized team in (BI related) projects. Proven experience with data warehousing/relational databases, ETL tools and technology, reporting tools and project management.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with SQL, Tableau, Hyperion, Oracle, and Alteryx. Will consider experience with other similar tools. Experience in higher education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to create data flow charts and diagrams; develop policies and procedures and the supporting documentations. Ability to create user manuals as well as to conduct training sessions. Ability to collect/retrieve, merge, review, clean, organize, synthesize, validate and summarize data.
