Quality Assurance Analyst

(New York, New York)New Classrooms is a nonprofit organization that leverages classroom design, teacher talent, and technology to enable personalized learning for more than 13,000 students in 38 pioneering schools.
- Establish testing plans with clearly defined test objectives for existing and upcoming product deployments
- Write and execute test cases, performing complex manual function, integration, and regression tests
- Collaborate with developers to establish data environments and unique testing methodologies to effectively test backend code
- Measure quality of products against documented requirements
- Document software issues and assist development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of the problems found during testing
- Conduct consistent, ongoing quality checks on existing products and data in production
- Cultivate a deep knowledge of all products in order to recreate issues and dialogue with developers when they need direction on what to resolve
- Investigate help desk-reported product issues and log validated bugs for developer queue according to established prioritization process
- Help establish a quality-focused product development culture
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
- Two years working with software development process and particularly assuring quality of technology products through manual testing
- Detail and process oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, with both technical and non-technical associates
- High degree of efficiency and motivation in a challenging, fast-paced environment, including willingness to work off-hours to ensure successful deployments
- Ability to comprehend complexity, to fully understand a product with all of its business and technological implications
- High level of comfort working with databases including setting up test data and running SQL queries to confirm quality of feature or product
- Familiarity with web development and scripting technologies (HTML, Javascript, templating, python, SQL)
Preferred:
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience within edtech or broadly within education
