Summary

Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President, Navistar, the Director, Marketing Communications and Brand will develop and launch strategic communication efforts to ensure that our products and services reach our targeted consumer base and are set apart from and above the competition. This person will demonstrate an ability to manage the entire creative process, using internal and external resources, in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This person will have oversight for all marketing communications for our portfolio of International trucks, including medium-duty, heavy-duty, and severe service products.

Responsibilities

Oversees strategic planning, development and coordination of all marketing communications programs to promote the sale of company products and further the company's sales objectives. Consults with other areas of management or business units, sales departments, and advertising agencies to leverage web marketing, trade show activity and direct marketing. Manages the preparation of sales aids, controls advertising and public relations projects, and recommends the media best suited to sell specific products or services. Interacts with vendors to produce promotional material. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Develop communications strategies and tactics that address key truck group business needs, including annual International Truck marketing communications plans. This includes, but is not limited to: paid/earned media, trade shows, events, content marketing and sales support for the International brand

  • Ensure strategic marketing plans are being developed for each vehicle line in a consistent and systematic way, and ensuring that initiatives and budgets are spread across vocations in a way that support business and sales objectives

  • Developing and articulating product and brand value propositions in collaboration with respective disciplines in sales, pricing/finance, engineering, and procurement, where appropriate

  • Manage advertising, show/events and content agency resources accordingly to ensure objectives are being met and initiatives are being addressed in a timely manner

  • Organize and lead significant events, including: Annual Dealer Meeting, product launches and media events, media and customer ride/drives, customer events as needed

  • Manage executive communications for C-suite senior leaders, as needed (webinars, key meetings, events, etc.)

  • Forge partnerships across truck marketing disciplines, including CRM/digital, dealer marketing and product marketing

  • Manage two marketing communications managers and one marketing communications analyst

Ideal Candidate

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of marketing or communications experience At least 6 years of management experience OR At least 14 years of experience of marketing or communications experience

  • At least 6 years of management experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
