Produce Associate

Associate are responsible for providing excellent customer service by satisfying each customer's need, exceeding their expectations and ensuring that customers have a warm and friendly shopping experience throughout the store. In addition they share their product knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers by answering any questions, assisting with product suggestions, educating and walking them to products. This role is critical to delivering a shopping experience for the customers that is way above their expectations.

Customer Service:

• Responsible for providing excellent customer service while demonstrating a passion for food.
• Demonstrate an overall knowledge of programs and operations within the department.
• Respond positively to customer's inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information and product selection.
• Greet customer; establish eye contact with customers.
• Speak to customers in a respectful manner and maintain patience in addressing customer concerns.
• Scan products, process credit cards and cash, balance cash registers.
• Document all void transactions, refunds and change requests, record and report Point of Sale discrepancies, identify counterfeit money.
• Deliver impeccable customer experience through service and in-stock conditions in the Produce department.

Merchandising:

• Produce associate is responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the produce department, including trimming, watering, and merchandising of products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings.
• Responsible for proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability
• Associate answer questions from customers about produce products and help increase sales by handling out food samples, and by recommending additional items to customers.
• Ensure that work area is neat and clean, and products are at proper safe levels.

Team Work:

• Arrive to work on time and ready to work at the start of their shift.
• Be friendly, courteous and respectful of fellow team members - have a positive attitude.
• Discover ways to improve processes.
• Seek out new assignments and responsibilities.

• Associate Stands, Walk, Squat and Bend and May occasionally lift heavy boxes, milk crates ect... They may also maneuver U-boat loaded with heavy products.
• May perform duties in temperature around or below freezing.
• Must be able to operate POS System, Handheld Devices and have basic math skills including adding and subtracting.
• Ability to use knives, box cutter, and other tools needed to perform require tasks when required.
• At least 1 year experience in retail experience working within produce department; merchandising, product rotation.
• Basic knowledge of retail food, grocery, organic, natural industry
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
