Senior Software Engineer

Moz is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our web and inbound engineering team. The team is responsible for Moz.com (our main web property) and supporting services including: user authentication, signup process (including PCI compliance), customer tracking/engagement, mailing service, and a number of other services used by Moz products.

* Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Technical Project Manager, and product owners to understand the function and system requirements. * Participate in testing process through unit testing and bug fixes. * Development of new applications by following a set of requirements from other departments to assure production of a quality product. * Responsible for monitoring and analysis of current applications including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, and designing solutions to problematic programming. * Follow good development practices and software development life cycle methodologies throughout product development. * Assist in resource and time estimation in areas such as creating engineering designs, hiring, and mentoring the team.

* 5+ years of professional software developing experience * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or you love to code. * Expert knowledge of Node.js. * Strong understanding of Git, MySQL, Redis, Memcache. * Comfortable managing VMs and deployments, NGiNX, Varnish. * Promotes the agile process and methodology. * Experience converting from monolithic to microservice architecture. * Sense of humor. * Motivated by solving company/user problems, not just technical problems. * Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on verbal and written communication.
