Summary

Moog Industrial Group is seeking a Project Quality Engineer to take on the critical role of improving product/process quality with contributions to the overall site business measurements of safety, quality, delivery, service and cost. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager and with dotted line responsibilities to the Value Stream Manager, the Project Quality Engineer will have quality authority along a specific value stream or set of value streams across the Industrial Controls Division business. In this critical role, you’ll have latitude for independent decision making and action. Additionally, role will require active involvement in revamping our Business Management System.

Responsibilities
  • Design-phase input on product(s) and processes. Drive new product development activities related to DFEMA’s, PFMEA’s, Inspections & test plans.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on problem solving methodology. Drive the use of structured problem solving methodology across the value streams.
  • Help to drive activities (Tier Meetings, Corrective Action Control Meetings, Change Control Meetings) required to build a Lean Infrastructure at ICD.
  • Open communication with external stakeholders such as suppliers and customers.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure parts and final product meet business objectives in terms of Quality, Delivery, Service, Cost and Safety.
  • Standardization of Quality process amongst peers.
  • Quality Project Management.
  • Leading and mentoring teams on polices and industry best practices.
Ideal Candidate
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Other four year technical degrees may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality engineering tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Measurement System Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Process Capability Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean, and advanced problem solving.
  • Strong facilitative leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize daily activities to be proactive and preventative.
