(Cambridge, Massachusetts)Moderna is a clinical stage pioneer of messenger RNA Therapeutics™, an entirely new in vivo drug technology that produces human proteins, antibodies and entirely novel protein constructs inside patient cells, which are in turn secreted or active intracellularly.
We seek a highly skilled and motivated pharmacologist to assist in developing the in vivo and in vitro data package to support advancement of Moderna’s mRNA technology platform and pipeline.
- Performance of in vivo assays including rodent handling, dosing and tissue harvest
- Performance of in vitro assays (ELISA, FACS, reporter systems, Luciferase, Western blotting, etc.)
- Standard mammalian cell culture support
- General laboratory assistance including lab equipment maintenance, preparation of reagents, and the ordering and receiving of lab supplies
- Accountable for project success and results delivery
- Closely collaborate with other members within the research group and broadly with departments throughout the company
- Record and communicate findings
Minimum Qualifications
- BS with at least 5 years of industry experience or MS with at least 3 years of industry experience in biology, pharmacology, or other related discipline.
- Hands on experience in rodent handling and dosing (IV, IM, SC, IP) is required
- Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture (cell lines and primary cells)
- Hands on experience with the utilization of cell-based assays to examine the expression and activity of a variety of protein targets
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with animal models used in genetics and metabolism research
- Hands on experience in setting up ex vivo assays (liver, muscle, adipose, kidney, heart)
- Surgical experience is a plus
- Experience with isolation and characterization of primary cells (hepatocytes, pancreatic islets, kidney cells, myocardial cells and MEFs)
- Ability to multi-task to meet technology development and research goals
