Inventory Cost Accountant

The primary focus of this position is to be responsible for the various aspects of inventory and cost accounting processes.
- Perform analysis of material, labor and overhead variance on a quarterly basis

Prepare reconciliations:
- Material, labor and overhead accounts
- Gross profit report

Provide assistance over the monthly physical inventory process for multiple locations
- Reviewing physical inventories for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain current policies to ensure relevant internal controls over financial reporting are SOX compliant
- Prepare journal entries
- Approve and receive various expenses via purchase order
- Review job costing information received from multiple locations for compliance with policy
- Identify efficiencies to streamline inventory processes and procedures
- Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required to fulfill the essential functions of the job

Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of cost accounting, preferred
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite, Excel and Access
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong analytical skills
- Communicate clearly: verbal and written
