About Leggett & Platt Incorporated

J.P. Leggett and C.B. Platt were both residents of Carthage, a county seat in southwest Missouri, when they formed their business partnership in 1883.

Summary

Leggett & Platt’s Creative Services department – our internal marketing agency – is looking for a full-time, full-stack Web Developer.

At Creative Services, we may be part of a corporation, but we’re not corporate. We’re housed in a building away from the corner offices and function as an independent, medium-sized agency. Your experience here is sure to be well-rounded, not only in the type of projects you’ll be working on but also in the kind of people you’ll be working alongside.

Responsibilities

What we do

  • Typical work consists of updating content, supporting older sites, and developing new, responsive sites.
  • These sites range from microsites and catalogs to content-managed systems.
  • We currently work in two-week sprints using scrum agile as our model.
  • To get the job done we work in all levels of the web stack, primarily using Microsoft software.
  • We value strong design and content presented in a usable and frustration-free way.

Who we need

  • The marketing world often has tight deadlines and short timeframes.
  • We rein in scope creep and request cycles as much as possible, but we also highly value the needs of our customers.
  • To work with us, you’ll need to be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities – and do it all with a good attitude.
  • We want someone who can work collaboratively with a team of people almost every day.
  • You must be a self-starter, but not a rogue.
Ideal Candidate
  • High level of competency in ASP.Net, C#, HTML, CSS, and LINQ
  • Intermediate level of competency in JavaScript and jQuery, SASS, classic asp, and MS SQL server preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of development experience
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology, specifically Scrum
  • Ability to work proficiently with Visual Studio and source control
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills
