Global Tax Manager

• Be the “go-to” for all tax matters at Knewton
• Assist with tax matters that arise in deal negotiations, answer ad hoc payroll tax questions, nexus questions, etc.
• Maintain Knewton’s tax calendar ensuring all tax due dates are hit (domestic and foreign)
• Handle all incoming tax authority notices and routine tax filings – either prepare directly or manage the preparation via outside tax counsel
• Manage and support day-to-day tax affairs to ensure compliance either directly with local finance or with external advisors
• Provide guidance on tax issues in various countries and build relationships with various tax authorities
• Implement and monitor company transfer pricing policy in all international Knewton locations
• Advise cross-functional teams on tax issues to achieve operational efficiency and business objectives
• Support implementation of business initiatives from the tax perspective
• Review contracts and collaborate with legal to ensure contracts contain key tax terms
• Lead and facilitate all external tax audits - federal, state, and local
• Prepare and facilitate a holistic state income tax and state sales tax nexus analysis and establish a process to maintain on-going compliance in identified jurisdictions

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in Big 4 and/or in-house
• Bachelor’s degree in tax, finance, economics or related field
• CPA and/or master’s degree preferred
• Industry and high-growth experience valued
• Great communication skills, well organized and leadership presence
