Kforce has a client in Tempe, Arizona (AZ) that is seeking a Senior Engine/Exhaust Regulatory Engineer. The ideal candidate will support product design and production compliance requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Oversee and coordinate emissions department resources based on project priorities to ensure on time completion of testing requirements
- Indirectly supervise 2 - 5 test technicians on two shifts
- Coordinate and plan technician resources to support all emissions related testing requirements
- Understand all applicable regulatory standards for EPA, CARB, and EUII for product construction and emissions testing requirements
- Understand all applicable product regulatory standards for ANSI, ISO, UL, and CSA for product construction requirements
- Generate and revise product certification documentation to meet regulatory agency requirements
- Professionally communicate with regulatory agencies for all product compliance needs
- Research upcoming regulations to plan and maintain proper equipment and product certification
- Train internal resources to maintain conformance with all emissions related regulations / standards
- Support New Product Development for Small Spark Ignition Engines related to regulatory and compliance requirements
- Attend project team meetings to ensure compliance requirements are met and team decisions are consistent with compliance requirements
- Write detailed test specifications and internal procedures based on product and agency requirements
- Support the development of Design Validation Plans to ensure all compliance requirements are documented and properly met
- Develop reporting tools and utilize statistical analysis techniques to communicate test results with internal departments and management
- Perform competitive benchmark testing
- BS degree in an Engineering discipline is highly desired
- Experience as a regulatory Engineer for Power Equipment Products or other types of equipment or machines
- Experience writing detailed test specifications and internal procedures based on product and agency requirements
- Understanding of all applicable regulatory standards for EPA, CARB, and EUII for product construction and emissions testing requirements
- Understanding all applicable product regulatory standards for ANSI, ISO, UL, and CSA for product construction requirements
- Experience with Emissions and Exhaust regulations is desired
- Experience with working with regulatory agencies for all product compliance needs is desired
- Experience in the Support of New Product Development for Small Spark Ignition Engines related to regulatory and compliance requirements is preferred
- Experience developing reporting tools and utilize statistical analysis techniques to communicate test results with internal departments and management is desired
- Experience performing competitive benchmark testing is a plus
